Volunteer!

There are many ways in which one can volunteer with the Binbrook Agricultural Society.  Along with the Binbrook Fair there are other opportunities for the youth in Binbrook to volunteer whether it is because it is something they like to do or whether it is to earn their High School Volunteer hours.

The most well known event at the Binbrook Fairgrounds is the Binbrook Fair.  This event involves a lot of volunteer hours to make it a success.  If you are interested in volunteering for the fair take a look at our Chairperson List and give the Committee chair a call and express your interest in helping out.

Student Volunteer Hours

Work Bees

Any student who is volunteering to obtain volunteer hours for High School must pick up a volunteer slip from the Fair Office and have it signed by the Chairperson or other Responsible person whom they are volunteering for.  All slips must be turned in at the office.  One of the BAS Members will tabulate all volunteer hours and sheets will be available at the BAS Annual Appreciation and Awards Night on Saturday November 11th, 2017.  Any sheets not picked up will be mailed out to the student using the address provided. Beginning Saturday August 5th and continuing on until the Binbrook Fair on September 15th there are work bees at the Fairgrounds every Saturday from 8am-12pm and Monday evenings from 6pm-8pm.  This is another great way to volunteer!  Come dressed to get dirty!

Catering

New Year's Eve Dinner and Dance

Do you enjoy food and fun?  The BAS Volunteers provide catering for various functions booked in the Main Agricultural Hall throughout the year.  If you are interested in helping out at a Catered event give Ruth a call at (905) 692-4153. We are always looking for more help with our Annual New Year's Eve Dinner and Dance.  It has been a sold out affair for years and everyone who attends has a great time.  If you are interested in helping out give Andrew a call at (905) 692-0693.  Whether you help with setting up and decorating the hall before the event or during the event any and all help is appreciated.

Annual Corn Roast

BAS Annual Appreciation and Awards Night

Every year on the Saturday evening prior to the Fair (Saturday September 9th) the BAS puts on a Corn Roast for the volunteers who are working hard getting everything set up and organized for the fair.  On Saturday November 11th, 2017 the BAS will hold their Annual Appreciation and Awards Night.  All volunteers who have helped over the past year will receive an invitation to attend if we have your contact information.  It is required that you RSVP your intention to attend so that there will be enough space and food.
