BAS Life Membership Scholarship

The BAS Life Membership Scholarship is awarded annually by the Binbrook Agricultural Society to recognize and support a dedicated local student pursuing post-secondary education.

This $500 scholarship has been established by the Life Members of the Binbrook Agricultural Society to recognize individuals who exemplify exceptional volunteerism and strong community citizenship. Each year, one scholarship will be awarded to a deserving student based on the criteria outlined below.

Criteria:

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  1. Submit a letter from the applicant (350 words) explaining why they should receive the scholarship.
  2. Provide a letter of reference from someone outside of the BAS.
  3. Complete the official application form.
  4. Be enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution or in an accredited full-time program leading to a degree, certificate, trade or diploma.
  5. Be an active volunteer with the Binbrook Agricultural Society.
  6. Be actively involved in other extracurricular and/or community activities.

Application deadline: September 20th at Midnight

Applicants may be requested to participate in an interview as part of the selection process.

This scholarship may only be awarded once per student.

Recipients must provide proof of enrolment in a Canadian post-secondary institution or to a trade program to claim their award.

The recipient will be selected by the BAS Board of Directors.

The scholarship will be presented at the Annual Appreciation & Awards Night in November.

Additional District 6 Youth Scholarships:

Rockton Agricultural Society:

In support of youth and continuing education, the Rockton Agricultural Society offers three scholarships- 1st place $1,250 , 2nd place $1,000 ; 3rd place $750 to qualified students who are pursuing post-secondary studies or are in a provincially regulated trade.

The program is administered by the Scholarship Committee on behalf of the RAS Board.
